The typical fee structure of other executive search firms is based on a percentage of 33-1/3 percent or higher of the total first year's compensation of the person placed AND a full commitment to pay the entire fee regardless of the outcome, and usually 100% upfront, plus another 10% for expenses built-in. Here at Mackenzie, we give you an affordable alternative to "typical" retained search: a flat fixed fee that never waivers, saving you 25% - 30% over most executive search firms. The fixed fee enables you to budget accordingly and removes the ambiguity of any surprises that may occur when the invoice arrives.
Mackenzie offers a lower commitment alternative to the "typical retainer model" (which requires a commitment to pay the full fee regardless of whether the search is successful or not). Our "engagement fee" is only a fraction of the overall fee with the remainder requiring no commitment whatsoever, and is earned along the way when we reach our Milestones. This enables Mackenzie to attract the same A-Level candidates (very qualified & interested) while significantly lowering your overall financial commitment. Mackenzie partners with clients based on their level of need and urgency:
Fee is based on mid-point of salary range; i.e. salary range is $150k-$250k. Our fee would be based on $200K, remains a flat fee and never changes for the duration of the assignment, so you can budget appropriately.
The fee is earned at milestones: Search initiation, again at candidate delivery, and final payment at hire. And the search can be cancelled at any time.
