FAQ's
Here are the answers to some of the questions we are most frequently asked...
What base salary range do you typically work within?
We complete searches with a first year total compensation of $150K to over $10MM.
Additionally, we work with clients (outside of the federal lab space) wanting to utilize a revenue based model. This model carries a different fee approach.
*We have accepted equity as a portion of our fee, and are open to this on a case-by-case basis.
What is retained search and why is it important?
A retained search means that we have committed to work together to secure the most talented individuals in your space. You commit the capital and agree to work with us exclusively, and Genomics HeadHunters commits the time, dedication, and experience. Your retainer commitment and our experience and reputation allow us to attract strong candidates who might not otherwise be interested in talking to a search firm. Candidates are interested in your opportunity when they learn that we have been retained by your organization. They know you have committed to filling the positions, because funds have been committed. And they know they will not be wasting their time at a "cattle call", as this is a serious process involving a single retained search firm.
How are your retainer fees structured?
We are very different. Our success fees are Milestone- Driven, configured on a flat rate schedule, and typically based upon the total first year's salary range, plus any signing bonus and additional cash compensation, as negotiated. The fees are not contingent upon the starting salaries of the hired candidates. Each search is unique and the client and search professional agree upon the fee in writing prior to each search, so our clients know what the full expense is from search initiation. We always honor the stated fee schedule. Our success fees actually save you tremendous expense over other firms.
One third of the fee is due when we choose to begin a new search together, and is due prior to starting the search. That covers our time spent researching your opening and the internal workings of your organization. We report back to you with comprehensive information about how your competitors have configured similar positions, what someone in that position is making, who is doing that position and comes highly recommended, and how we feel about various candidates after we have completed our interviewing process.
When we deliver a slate of candidates, you pay the second portion of the fee.
The third portion is not due until the individual has accepted an offer of employment with your company, regardless of the start date.
What is your success ratio?
We enjoy placement success of over 94%. It takes the client and the search professional working together as a team to achieve those results. Communication is key to success. We are an extension of your company.
Our goal is to find and place the most qualified candidate in your market - not the best candidate on the market or the candidate who interviews best.
Do you provide a period of guarantee?
Yes
